Visiting the Miners' Centre

A message to our visitors on COVID-19 safety measures

We are following government guidelines to make your visit to the Miners as safe as possible

We are pleased to welcome you back to our centre.
We are all working hard to make the Centre a safe place to visit. Covid-19 remains a threat to us all, and we hope we can work together to keep everyone safe and your visit as comfortable as possible.

We ask all our visitors to observe the following:

  • Please do not visit our centre if you or anyone in your household is displaying symptoms of Covid-19.

  • If you are able, please park in our lower car park, so that there is safe outdoor space is available at the front of the building.

  • Please bring with you a mask/face covering and wear it throughout your visit.

  • Please bring any refreshments with you.  Our kitchen will be closed until further notice.

  • Please register in advance of your visit as we are limiting the number of people in the building at any one time. We will need the names and mobile/phone numbers of everyone planning to come to our building. The stewards will sign in pre registered visitors on the way in.  This information will be kept for 21 days for track and trace purposes only.

  • Please sanitise your hands before entering the building and during your visit. We have introduced foot-controlled hand-sanitisers outside the front door and in other key locations.

  • Please avoid pressing the front door opener with your hands – we will supply hand-wipes – but use elbows, sleeves, gloves etc if possible.

  • Please be prepared to have your temperature taken on arrival by our stewards.

  • Please keep 2m from other people – using the measures taped on the floor.

  • We are limiting the number of people and groups inside the building. Initially (Phase 1), there will only be one group at a time, and you will be required to enter and exit through the door at the front of the building. We are operating a one-at-a-time system so please wait for the door to close behind the person in front of you before attempting to enter or leave the building.

  • In Phase 2 there will be two classes in the building at one time. We will then introduce a staggered entry and a one-way system.

  • When inside please avoid touching any surfaces. We will position chairs and tables at social distances, keep doors and windows open, and we will also sanitise surfaces before and after each session.

  • Please use the toilets as infrequently as possible. Only the disabled toilet will be in use. You are asked to use the wipes supplied to clean all surfaces after use.

  • Please pay by card in advance (details will be provided). We are trying to move away from cash but let us know if card payment is a problem.

  • Please avoid talking in the hallways, they are a point of congestion within our building and we want to keep them clear.

We hope you will be reassured by the precautionary measures we are taking.

Online payments are preferred; we are unable to give change for cash paid at the Centre.
Thank you for working with us and enjoy your visit.

Thank you so much to everyone that donated to our gazebo appeal. We now have an outdoor activity space that young and old can enjoy!
